The Pups of Mile High K9

At Mile High K9, our dogs are part of the family. We work, play, live, and compete together. We will always treat your dogs with the same respect and care that we give our own dogs. Plus, your dog is guaranteed to always have another dog nearby! Meet our crew!

Dakota

Dakota is an 11-year-old German Shepherd Dog who has been with Amy through everything! She is the Queen of Mile High K-9! She was Amy’s first narcotics detection dog and detection was Dakota’s passion as well as Amy’s. The joke used to be that all she needed was a driver and Dakota would take care of the rest. Her favorite things in life are frisbees, buckets, and water! She is Herding Instinct Certified, has her AKC CD Obedience title and AKC Dock Novice title, CGC, multiple narcotics detection certifications, and DockDogs Novice title. Dakota was Amy’s demo dog for years and continues to help out when she can.

Scout

Scout is a 10-year-old Belgian Malinois. He has an amazing drive for life and gives 150% at every single thing that he does. He is up for anything and excels at whatever he tries. He has multiple narcotics detection certifications, received DockDogs Super Elite, Sonic, Titan and High Flyer titles, and he and Amy won the Most Exciting Team of the year with DockDogs WorldWide People’s Choice Awards. He was the runner up (to a dog 3 times his size!) in a hardest hitting personal protection competition. He is trained in personal protection and was training for Mondio Ring before an injury forced his early retirement. Scout loves to give demos at events and show off all his tricks and adores children. He is truly a one of a kind dog! You’ll most likely see Scout tugging from a rope hanging from the tree in the yard at Mile High!

Deacon

Deacon is probably the most popular pup amongst our clients at Mile High K-9! He is the resident welcoming committee to almost every dog that stays with us. His calming presence with other dogs helps them to settle in and not be as worried about their new surroundings. He often participates in Pack Walks and lessons as the distractor. He loves puppies and other dogs! He has the standing title of “Employee of the Month.” Deacon also enjoys swimming, dock diving, and frisbee. He earned multiple invites to the DockDogs World Championships over the years. He competed with Amy and with his junior handler, Amanda, in GA. Deacon was surrendered to the shelter that Amy worked in for severe behavioral issues. The shelter director told Amy she could take him or he would be put to sleep. He went home with Amy that same day and has transformed into quite the amazing pup!

Harley

Harley is a 12-year-old Papillon who enjoys therapy visits and training/socializing young puppies! He adores children and can often be found making new friends at Mile High K-9 Kennel. He has his CGC, Therapy Dog certification, and his BarnHunt Novice title. He also participates in FastCats and has competed in agility trials. He he is famous around here for all of his fun tricks and loves to put on a show! Harley is always up for new adventures and is a great ‘ranch hand’ with all the farm animals! He has never met anyone he didn’t like and is the best cuddler of the bunch!

Dallys

Dallys is a 9-year-old Belgian Malinois/German Shepherd mix. She doesn’t love being in limelight but loves swimming, disc, and dockdiving. She has taught many other dogs to swim. She is a very athletic girl, but also loves to cuddle up on the couch! Dallys has competed in DockDogs and disc. Her favorite past times are making sure no critters trespass in her yard, running, swimming and hanging out with her people. She can usually be seen gliding along her path at MHK9! (If you’ve seen her – you know what we mean!)

Melee

Melee is the newest addition! She is a Belgian Malinois pup with big Melee NICE footsteps to fill! Her life goals include becoming a certified narcotics detection K-9 and competing in Ring Sport! She already LOVES playing fetch, tugging, and by 4 months of age knew over 30 commands and tricks. She soaks up training like a sponge! We are very excited to see what journeys this girl will take us on!
