Obedience and Manners
Obedience training plays a huge role in the quality of a dog’s life, allowing him/her to live a longer, happier life with his/her human family. We all know that dogs need physical exercise, but did you know they need mental exercise just as much? A dog that is not given clear boundaries and is constantly unsure about what is expected of them is going to make up their own rules and games, and chances are, you aren’t going to like them! Obedience training provides a dog with the leadership and attention that they crave. It also provides a clear and consistent line of communication between you and your dog, which helps reduce stress and anxiety for both you and your dog! It sets the foundation for a healthy
relationship as well as helping to prevent behavioral problems from arising. We teach focus and engagement with you as the handler so that your dog looks to you instead of everyone/everything else. All programs will be customized to your dog’s individual needs. All dogs that complete a training program are eligible for discounted boarding and pack walks! We will start all training prospects off with a 60 minute evaluation where we get to meet you and your dog and learn more about your training goals. These are $45 and take place at our facility.
Board and Trains
Our Board and Train programs are by far our most popular program. It is like sending your pup to “Doggy Boot Camp!” Your dog will be integrated in to our daily routine, learn proper 
behaviors around the house, on walks, etc. They will get several dedicated training sessions every day, learning that obedience is a way of life, not just a fun trick when the treats are out. Your dog will also get lots of fun play time, including doggy play groups when possible. After the board and train is completed, you will receive private lessons to help your dog understand his new rules apply to you and his home so he/she doesn’t try to go back to their old habits, and to teach you his commands and proper handling and problem solving. The lessons are a crucial step in the learning process for both you and your dog.
Private Lessons
Private lessons give you a chance to do the training with your dog, while being provided instruction from our trainer. We start with a 60 to 90 minute lesson to go over the basics with you, get you on the same page, learn commands, etc. and going forward lessons are 
30 minutes to an hour. You will be given homework to work on in between lessons. It is crucial that you work on the training at home in between sessions in order to have success with your dog! Private lessons are not typically recommended for dogs with severe behavioral concerns.
Puppy Programs
We have several programs available through board and trains or private lessons to help g
et your puppy started on the right paw. These programs are suited for puppies age 10 weeks to 6 months of age, which is a critical learning period for puppies and makes a huge difference in their outlook on life! Your puppy’s foundation can make or break your dog, so ensuring proper socialization to the world, other people and animals is critical. We also want your puppy to learn now that YOU are the center of their world- not everyone else. We work on focus, learning relaxation, engagement, proper play, and teaching them that they do not have to be entertained by you 24/7! All puppies are given a solid foundation in marker training and learn how fun training can be!
